Role Positioning and Objectives
The Sales Application Engineer plays a critical role in bridging customer technical requirements with the company's selling product solutions. Based on the company's CVP and industry segmentation, this role is responsible for handling customer phones/email/website inquiries, product selection and sizing by industry applications, technical support to sales, customer and internal stakeholders, CRM leads to opportunity management, sales assistance, and sales data analysis—ensuring the sales process is efficient, accurate, and aligned with the customer-first2 strategic objective.
Core Responsibilities
- Customer Inquiry Handling and Sales Assignment, receive customer inquiries from the company website, identify customer industry and end users, and assign inquiries to appropriate sales engineers based on industry classification rules.
- Communicate with customers to understand technical requirements, perform product sizing, selection, and determine product models based on product manuals for quotation.
- Provide high-quality technical information and problem-solving services via phone, email, or visits.
- Using company software to selection of quote items with item information to sales and sales support for generate system quotation, prepare quote information to sales and support sales team.
- Create leads in CRM by converting leads based on technical discussions, enabling sales to follow up and convert into opportunities and assign to the right sales.
- Manage Steam Trap Surveys and Service Reports product demands and coordinate with sales engineers and assistants for follow-up and quotation.
- Master product manuals, prepare the TIS (technical information sheet), IMI (installation and maintenance Instruction), SB (sales Brochure) on sales or customer, training needs.
- Select products for MRO, Contractor or EPC projects, and prepare technical and commercial proposals in compliance with customer specifications and company policies.
- Perform product selection, sizing and design, prepare conceptual P&ID and (2D & 3D), and develop applications that meet customer requirements.
- Use Power BI tools to analyse sales records, identify MRO product opportunities, and support the sales team to drive business growth
- Send the inquiry of product SSP to supply site for sales and customer needs.
- Work closely with Supply sites and Sales throughout the bidding and purchasing phases of all projects to best support our customer's requirements and expectations.
- Assist in selecting sub-vendors as well as achieving a detailed and defined sub-vendor supply scope as required by the respective project.
- Prepare the TIS (technical information sheet), IMI (installation and maintenance Instruction), SB (sales Brochure).
- Prepare the SBD new product release documentation and support sales team to support the new release item.
- Support sales, sales support and purchase team on 3.1certifciate and other report needs
- Other task assigned by Management
Skills / Certifications
- Candidate must possess at least a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate and reason
with people from diverse backgrounds. - Experience of solution design using 2D / 3D modelling software
- Computer ability in Auto CAD or SolidWorks program.
- Well organized and good time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities.
- A working knowledge of Spirax products, applications, systems, and processes
- Experience/ knowledge of steam system design standards (PESR, EN 13480 etc.)
- Proven track record of working in a similar business/industry.
- Experience in a customer facing role.
- Demonstrable ability to work under pressure, with multiple deadlines/demands
