Core Responsibilities:

Network & Security Management

  • Aruba Infrastructure:
    Provide Level 2 support and administration for
    ArubaOS-CX switches
    and the
    Aruba wireless platform
    . This includes configuring VLANs, managing SSIDs, troubleshooting connectivity issues with access points (APs), and working with centralized management platforms like Aruba Central.
  • Fortinet Firewalls:
    Manage and troubleshoot
    FortiGate firewalls
    . This involves configuring and auditing firewall policies, NAT rules, and VPNs (IPSec/SSL). The engineer will also monitor security logs and alerts using
    FortiAnalyzer
    and respond to security incidents.
  • SolarWinds Monitoring:
    Administer and maintain our
    SolarWinds monitoring platform
    (NPM, NCM, etc.). This includes configuring devices for monitoring, creating custom alerts and dashboards, analyzing performance data, and generating reports to identify trends and potential issues.

Requirements:

  • Min 5-7 years and deep technical knowledge of
    Aruba network switches
    ,
    Aruba wireless infrastructure
    , and
    Fortinet firewalls
    , with a strong focus on using
    SolarWinds
    for monitoring and management.
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching protocols (VLANs, STP).
  • Proven experience with
    SolarWinds
    tools for network performance, configuration, and traffic analysis.
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools like Wireshark and the command-line interface (CLI) for network devices.
  • Review node uptime, interface status, and CPU/memory utilization on core switches, firewalls, and key access points.
  • Check for any unexpected changes in network traffic patterns using SolarWinds NTA (NetFlow Traffic Analyzer).
  • Investigate and resolve L2 switching issues such as VLAN mismatches, STP loops, port security violations, or link aggregation group (LAG) failures. Use the CLI to check switch configurations and logs.
  • Troubleshoot wireless client connectivity, roaming issues, and performance problems. This could involve checking signal strength, channel interference, or authentication server (e.g., RADIUS) logs.
  • Analyze firewall logs and policies to troubleshoot user access issues. Create or modify firewall rules, NAT policies, and security profiles (e.g., web filtering, application control) as needed.
