Digital Strategy Intern (APAC)

Internship Period: 12 January 2026 – 31 July 2026

Job Description:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from the Investment and Business Development team within the Digital Strategy Division (APAC). Interns will gain hands-on exposure to digital innovation, investment research, deal sourcing, and business development efforts involving MUFG and its partner banks across Asia, in alignment with the Asia X Digital Strategy. The role is designed to provide meaningful learning experiences and practical insights into how strategic initiatives are shaped and executed in a global financial institution.

Key Learning & Support Areas

Investment Research & Analysis

•    Learn how to conduct structured research on start-ups and emerging technologies, with a focus on digital solutions including AI relevant to financial services.

•    Support the preparation of investment briefs, comparative analyses, and internal summaries used in strategic reviews.

•    Contribute to the development of reports and insights submitted to Head Office, gaining exposure to how investment narratives are built.

Deal Sourcing

•    Gain exposure to the process of identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities aligned with MUFG's digital strategy.

•    Assist in mapping and profiling companies across various stages — from early-stage to growth — that offer relevant digital capabilities or strategic fit.

Business Development Support

•    Learn how MUFG and partner banks across Asia are adopting and integrating digital solutions, including AI, to enhance operational and strategic capabilities.

•    Support initiatives that contribute to regional enablement under the Asia X Digital Strategy and understand how cross-border collaboration is managed.

Operational & Strategic Support

•    Help maintain internal tracking tools related to investment opportunities and business development activities.

•    Assist in summarising key takeaways from meetings and team discussions, gaining insight into how strategic decisions are made.

Job Requirements:

•    Interest in digital financial services, AI innovation, and start-up ecosystems.

•    Curiosity about investment strategy and regional business development.

•    Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

•    Good communication and presentation skills.

•    Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment.

This internship role is based in Singapore. It is open to Singaporean and PR students only.
