The Cook/Demi Chef supports the culinary team in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes across the Club's dining and banquet operations. This role bridges foundational culinary skills with progressive responsibilities, ensuring consistency in food standards, hygiene, and service delivery in line with Sentosa Golf Club's reputation as a premier hospitality destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing mise-en-place and executing dishes according to menu standards.
- Cook and plate dishes consistently, ensuring presentation meets Club standards.
- Support the delivery of food during peak service periods (a la carte, buffet, banquets, tournaments).
- Contribute to menu testing, seasonal specials, and member/tournament functions.
- Maintain food quality, freshness, and portion control as guided by senior chefs.
- Adhere strictly to SFA (Singapore Food Agency) and NEA standards for food hygiene and safety.
- Follow internal HACCP procedures and assist in regular kitchen audits.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO).
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Mentor and guide Commis Chefs and Trainees where required.
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
- Uphold a positive and professional kitchen culture aligned with SGC's values.
Job Requirements (Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Required)
- Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certification (compulsory).
- Minimum 2 years of culinary experience, preferably in hotel, club, or high-volume restaurant settings.
- Exposure to Asian and Western cuisines will be an advantage.
