Results and Assessments Manager

The Assessments Manager is responsible for overseeing the effective and efficient management of all assessment-related processes within Curtin Singapore. This role ensures that all assessments are administered accurately, securely, and in compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The Assessments Manager also ensures that results are accurately processed, recorded, and communicated to stakeholders in a timely manner.
DUTIES:
1. Leadership and Management
· Lead, supervise, and manage the Assessment Administration Team and the Results and Assessment Team to ensure the smooth operation of assessment processes.
· Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their effectiveness, professional development and acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the assessments and examinations, academic integrity, results and academic status and progressions, including policies, procedures, rules and regulations laid down by Navitas English, Curtin College, Curtin University and Curtin Singapore Examination Board.
· Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and ensure alignment with departmental goals.
2. Assessment Administration
· Oversee the scheduling, preparation, and administration of all assessments and examinations (including deferred and further assessments) in accordance with policies and timelines.
· Responsible in ensuring timely communication and publications of all assessments and examinations (including deferred and further assessments) details and code of conduct to students, academic staff and other stakeholders.
· Responsible for the integrity of examinations and tests by strictly adhering to established Examination Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implement consistent quality control measures throughout the assessment process.
· Undertake the role of the Chief Invigilator, ensuring proper invigilation is put in place and be available for all invigilated tests and examinations scheduled, to provide advice and support to invigilators and the team.
· Ensure support is provided to students with special requirements or exceptional circumstances in relation to assessments. For example, students with approved Curtin Access Plan.
· Oversee invigilator management, including recruitment, training, scheduling, deployment, and payroll processing.
· Responsible in ensuring academic integrity for all assessments and exams, including reporting and managing academic misconduct.
· Ensure that assessment extension requests are tracked, processed and scheduled, in compliance with policies and within approved turnaround time.
· Ensure accurate maintenance of assessment records and related documentation.
· Implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of assessment administration processes.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies.
3. Results and Assessment Management
· Oversee the marking, moderation and results release processes, ensuring compliance to policies and procedures.
· Responsible in ensuring the timely resolution and updating of results records for outstanding results, including GNS (Grade Not Submitted), DA (Deferred Assessments), and X (Further Assessments) cases.
· Responsible in ensuring the accuracy of all results prior to results release, which includes correct set up of gradebook or grade centre in student learning management systems.
· Ensure timely preparation of marksheet for each unit and accurate Board of Examiners (BoE) reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy of assessment data.
· Ensure timely and accurate communication of results to students, faculty, parents/guardians and other stakeholders.
· Oversee the assessment feedback and results appeal process, ensuring timely and appropriate communication with students of the outcome of appeals.
· Monitor and enhance processes related to result validation, grade approval, and record-keeping.
· Identify areas for improvement in assessment results management and implement enhancements.
4. Academic Status Management
· Responsible in ensuring that academic statuses records are updated accurately in Student Learning Management Systems in a timely manner.
· Monitor the communication of academic statuses to students and manage the appeal process, ensuring timely and appropriate communication with students of the outcome of appeals against academic statuses.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance
· Develop and implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards of assessment administration and results management.
· Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, policies, and industry best practices.
· Coordinate audits, reviews, and reporting related to assessment processes.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
· Liaise with academic staff, administrative departments, and external stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and communication of assessment-related activities.
· Provide timely and accurate information to relevant stakeholders as required.
7. Strategic Planning and Reporting
· Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives related to assessment processes.
· Prepare reports, analyse trends, and recommend improvements to enhance assessment processes and outcomes.
· Ensure alignment of assessment practices with goals and objectives.
8. Others
· Work collaboratively with Scheduling Manager for all assessments details, scheduling and publications.
· Responsible in ensuring documentation preparedness and compliance and attend interviews, for audits conducted by local regulators or course providers.
· Responsible in ensuring that the operations and functions of Assessments Department are conducted in compliance with and meet all regulatory requirements and institutional policies and procedures, and will take appropriate actions, in discussion with the Senior Manager Assessments, Integrity and Academic Capability and Director of Academic Services to address any potential non-compliance issues.
· Any other duties assigned by the Director of Academic Services.

· A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in assessment management or a related field.
· Demonstrated experience in managing teams and overseeing assessment processes within an educational institution.
· Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain high-quality assessment procedures.
