Overview

The successful candidate will join the NUHS Group Digital Office to lead the administration of our IT innovation grant programme.

Job Responsibilities

The appointee will join NUHS Group Digital Office (GDO) to lead the administration of our IT innovation grant programme with focus areas of AI, Sensors and Wearables, and Robotics and Automation. This role will be critical to the programme success, from strategic alignment to programme goals, to oversight of awarded projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of innovation ecosystems, grant administration best practices, and exceptional project management skills. The position holder will enable innovation within and beyond NUHS while ensuring compliance to internal policies and funding requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee and mange grant programme

  • Oversee and manage the IT innovation grant portfolio to ensure strategic alignment with NUHS' priorities and grant scheme guidelines.
  • Manage the overall grant process including evaluation, award, monitoring, and project assessment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between potential applicants, NUHS stakeholders and representative for cross-cluster forums.
  • Foster cross-cluster collaboration, encouraging Principal Investigators/Project Leads and Co-Investigators/Collaborators in non-NUHS clusters to embark on innovation projects together.
  • Proactively identify, build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders especially within NUHS (e.g. institution innovation teams), other clusters, industry partners and funding agencies to select and drive awarded projects to adoption.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and generate recommendations for grant Evaluation Panel(s).
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement and evolution of the programme operation.

Grant budget management

  • Monitor and manage grant budgets, which consists of programme operations budget and project grant awards budget, supported by grant administrator(s).
  • Manage project variations, and extensions in accordance with programme policies.
  • Monitor innovation program performance and compliance with grant budget and requirements.
  • Prepare budget memo, cashflow projections and financial reports for the programme, ensuring that all claims are filed in a prompt manner and in compliance to the fund's terms and conditions, and NUHS policies.

Project monitoring

  • Implement robust monitoring frameworks to track the performance of awarded projects against agreed schedules, milestones, financial expenditures, and deliverable quality.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date programme data and generate timely insightful evaluation reports highlighting achievements and recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintain good relationships with awarded project PIs to drive projects to completion and adoption.

Pre-grant approval support

  • Identify and recommend high potential projects suitable for proof of concept or proof of value in need of Synapxe technical support prior to formal grant application.
  • Review any billable Synapxe services and ensure on-time filing of claims.

Takes initiative to resolve problems within his/her capability whenever required

  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement and evolution of programme operations
  • Any other activities requested by the Group Chief Digital Officer or Reporting Officer

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, IT, science, engineering, or another relevant subject.
  • At least 5 years' experience in grant management, project management, programme management, project management office, or innovation activities.
  • Proven experience in management of multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong administrative skills, self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
  • Comfortable with working with a matrix organisation where individuals play multiple roles, with a need to balance expectations of multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate and manage relationships with stakeholders inside and external to NUHS.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive work attitude, proactive, flexible and adaptable.
