Perform basic care and maintenance

A service advisor's job scope typically includes the following responsibilities:

Customer Interaction:

  • Greet customers and listen to their concerns about their vehicles.
  • Schedule service appointments and communicate with customers about their service needs.

Service Coordination:

  • Coordinate with the service technicians to ensure the timely completion of vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Keep customers updated on the status of their vehicles and any changes in the repair schedule.

Cost Estimates:

  • Provide customers with detailed estimates of repair costs and time required.
  • Explain the necessity of repairs and the associated costs to customers.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of customer information, vehicle details, and service history.
  • Prepare service orders and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure that all services performed meet the company's quality standards.
  • Conduct post-service follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction.

Problem Resolution:

  • Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Liaise between customers and service technicians to ensure clear communication and satisfactory resolution of issues.

Inventory Management:

  • Check stock levels of parts and supplies necessary for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to ensure the availability of necessary parts.
  • Place orders for out-of-stock items and ensure timely delivery to avoid service delays.
