Job Summary:

As a Logistics Assistant, you will support the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods. You will ensure accurate inventory handling, timely processing of orders, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Depending on operational needs, your primary focus may be on either delivery preparation or goods put-away, while still supporting general warehouse activities.

General Responsibilities:

  • Attend daily briefings and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Read and interpret Pick Lists and Delivery Orders accurately.
  • Assist in daily operations including receiving, picking, packing, put-away, shipping, and dispatch.
  • Operate mobile devices and ERP systems as required.
  • Support loading & unloading of goods from trucks and containers.
  • Attend to customers for self-collection or sample viewing.
  • Support the sales team with tasks such as goods measurements or documentation.
  • Perform regular visual safety checks around work areas (e.g., loading bays, warehouse zones).
  • Investigate stock discrepancies when required.
  • Coach or guide colleagues on operational processes.
  • Provide ad hoc assistance in deliveries when assigned.

a)      Put-Away Focused Responsibilities:

  • Collect goods from receiving areas for storage.
  • Segregate and organize goods based on inventory plans or customer orders.
  • Create new storage locations for incoming goods if necessary.
  • Sign off on reception notes to confirm receipt.
  • Identify and report any abnormalities (e.g., discrepancies in quantity or item description, physical defects) in accordance with logistics protocols.
  • Perform cross-docking where applicable for items missed in picklists.
  • Cut cables or other materials per order requirements when necessary.

b)      Delivery Focused Responsibilities:

  • Verify item model numbers and quantities before packing.
  • Inspect goods for any physical damage.

  • Fulfill customer-specific requirements such as:

  • Labelling and re-packing.

  • Assembly of goods into complete sets.
  • Cutting cables, tubing, rails, etc. as per order instructions.
  • Ensure packed goods are secured and ready for dispatch.
  • Place packed items onto designated delivery racks or pallets.
  • Print and place delivery orders at the appropriate location.
  • Support delivery drivers in loading and unloading, especially for bulky or fragile goods.
  • Assist in ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of goods to customers.

Requirements
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Basic computer literacy is required.
  • Possessing a forklift license is an added advantage
