Learning Facilitator (LF) works closely with Early Childhood Educators to identify and support B20 children with  social-emotional, numeracy, and literacy areas through targeted interventions and monitoring of progress and well-being. LF focuses on building strong relationships with families through regular communication, meetings, and home visits, emphasizing the importance of parental involvement in engagement activities. Collaboration with educators, parents, and stakeholders, along with meticulous documentation, to foster a supportive environment for children, involving community networking, accessing resources and maintaining comprehensive records of each child's development and family profile.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and implement curriculum and programmes

  2. Collaborate with Early Childhood Educators to identify and conduct baseline screenings for B20 children who may require additional support in areas such as social-emotional development, numeracy, and literacy

  3. Plan in engaging children meaningfully in accordance with the curriculum and pedagogical frameworks and implement pull out activities to support B20 children to increase children's participation in the class.  (Work with Early Childhood Educators to deliver and evaluate support based on the needs of the children using prescribed programmes) Collaborate with Early Childhood Educators to implement small group or one-to-one teaching to increase children's participation in the class.  Coordinate class-based activities with early childhood educators to ensure that children are able to participate in the class.
  4. Customise classroom management strategies
  5. Evaluate documentations of children's learning and development to better inform planning and teaching
  6. Document and monitor development using different assessment tools prescribed by ECDA or PCF
  7. Review results of learning needs assessment
  8. Work closely with classroom teachers and align teaching and learning approaches with curricula frameworks
  9. Keep copies of the records of accommodations, modified prescribed, and alternate program/ course/curriculum documents for regular revision and updates.
  10. Take the lead in the monitoring and documenting progress
  11. Assist with identification of outcomes requiring modification.
  12. Provide small group and individual instruction to children as required.
  13. Provide additional one to one support for children with moderate learning difficulties.
  14. Curate evidence-informed programme/curriculum in at least one of the 4 areas (1) L&L, (2) Numeracy, (3) SED, or (4) EF for implementation.
  15. To monitor child's progress at centre and HQ level using prescribed measurement tools.
  16. Develop care packs for individual child under his/her charge
  17. Manage family and community programmes

  18. Guide the execution of collaborative projects with families and community stakeholders

  19. Evaluate family and community initiatives and programmes for improvements
  20. Develop outreach activities to promote centre programmes and services
  21. Conduct regular meetings with Family Service Officer (FSO) /families to discuss the child's progress, share insights, and address concerns.
  22. Provide regular updates on the child's progress and any changes in their needs.
  23. Encourage families to participate in parent engagement activities
  24. Do Home Visits with FSO for identified children/families
  25. Build stakeholder relationships and partnerships

  26. Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and family members.

  27. Network with community agencies and assist to foster collaborative partnership amongst community, social and corporate partners with PCF
  28. Execute communication strategies and policies to foster a culture of collaboration within the Centre
  29. Identify opportunities to collaborate with families to ensure continuity of care and learning between the home and the Centre
  30. Participate in joint parent-teacher meetings as agreed upon with the classroom/subject teacher. This could be through physical presence or by providing written comments.
  31. Work together with Family Support Officer
  32. Tap on available resources to guide parents on child-rearing
  33. Collaborate with FSO/Learning Support Educator (LSEd)/Therapists/Educators/parents and other stakeholders to support child and family
  34. Uplift professional practice of teaching

  35. Analyse areas for improvements for professional practice

  36. Propose improvements to professional development and service quality improvement activities
  37. Co-develop appropriate teaching and caregiving methods based on emerging sector trends, technologies and tools
  38. Promote Centre's vision, mission and values
  39. Documentation

  40. Maintain accurate records of each child's progress from the baseline screening, family's profile and relevant information.

  41. Prepare and maintain reports to track progress and share information with relevant keyholders
  42. Administration and maintenance of case notes / records / confidential files

Job Holder Requirements:

  • Qualification: Recognized Diploma in Early Childhood Education / Psychology/ Social Work
  • Experience: 3-5 years early childhood teaching experience. Fresh graduates will also be considered.
  • Special Qualities, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Passionate about teaching preschoolers in different contexts and situations with the view to enhance and motivate their interest to learn

  • Good communicator and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must have initiative and ability to work independently and yet be a good team player
  • An organized and systematic worker
