ROLE TITLE: Senior Business Development Manager
REPORTING TO: General Manager
LOCATION: Singapore
OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:
To work with our existing intermediary distribution network in Singapore to drive new business sales for SME and Individual. To support SME and Individual renewals for our group Global and Admitted products and achieve profitable sales growth and renewal in accordance with agreed targets.
Support the General Manager - Singapore to manage relationships with our key intermediary partners, review broker performance and provide group/individual training and regular meetings with business leaders and individual supporters to ensure best possible positioning of our products and services.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development:
- Hybrid role responsible for SME New business growth, Individual New business and supporting the renewal processes for existing business.
- Work with the General Manager to build upon existing broker and intermediary relationships within Singapore to maximise group quote production and generate income for Now Health International to an agreed annual target.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, negotiate, and secure renewals in Singapore.
- Present Now Health International to potential clients through direct communication in face to face or virtual meetings, telephone calls and emails. Expected to have a minimum of 10 external meetings per week and ensure that all communications demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
- Actively support in the management of group renewals and the Individual renewal process, including lead generation, credentials pitch, overcoming objections, mid-year account reviews, negotiations and closing.
- Manage and maintain a sales pipeline, including awareness of the performance of specific accounts, ensuring that targets are met, and all sales administration is current using OH+ / CRM software.
- Manage and align clients' and distributors expectations of service standards and support the development of operational staff to nurture strong intermediary relationships.
- Create and be accountable for proposals, contracts and further documentation using Now Health International procedures and service standards.
- Respond to requests for information in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the General Manager to report on the results of the area under control as required.
- Keep abreast of issues affecting the insurance sector and collect competitor intelligence.
- Arrange and attend meetings and other forms of communication with clients and/or other internal functions necessary to perform the above duties.
- Adhere to Best Practice Processes, Service Standards and all relevant statutory or regulatory requirements, including treating customers fairly (TCF)
- Support the team with any other requests from the General Manager or regional management team.
Customer service:
- Work collaboratively with Operational teams to ensure that customers are fully supported and receive a peerless service experience.
- Ensure that any complaints or service failures are dealt with strictly in accordance with the Complaints Procedures.
- Take personal responsibility to always treat customers fairly showing honesty and integrity at all times.
- Adhere to best practice processes including delivery of all the agreed service standards.
COMPLIANCE & SECURITY
- Take responsibility for establishing and maintaining up-to-date personal and team's awareness of all legislative, regulatory and Company-specific rules, policies and procedures related to performance of the role. Ensure consistent compliance with legal, regulatory and Company standards in line with underwriter requirements.
- Work in conjunction with the Head of Legal and Compliance to ensure that our expansion projects comply with all regional legal/regulatory standards, and that any changes in laws or regulations are built into our project plans/operational processes.
- Pay particular attention to the Company's Information and Data Security policies when accessing and using all Company systems which may provide access to sensitive information assets and strive to maintain the highest possible standards of information protection at all times.
- Take individual responsibility for accessing only the systems, records and information required to perform the role. Treat all data contained within those systems in a manner consistent with the Company's Information and Data Security policies, and in line with the confidentiality clauses provided within the employment contract.
- Ensure any regulatory requirements relevant to the individual's role are met, include certain qualifications and CPD.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Substantial sales experience within the international medical insurance or high-end group employee benefits sector, with a proven ability to deliver sales targets.
- A track record of successfully researching, analysing, and concluding new business opportunities, as well as retaining existing business.
- Strong client management skills and ability to keep promises and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Able to demonstrable full knowledge of the sales and renewal process.
- Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation.
- A positive attitude to dealing with people.
- Capable of working independently and taking individual ownership
- Capable of working within a team to deliver shared goals.
- Business level written and spoken English is essential; additional local language capabilities are advantageous
- Confident negotiator - able to 'close the deal'.
- Capable of hands on problem-solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions.
- Ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Willingness to travel - the successful candidate is expected to spend part of their time out of the office in meetings and conducting training sessions. Travel is a major factor and is predicted to be predominantly within Singapore however travel may be in the Asia.
