We are looking for a dynamic & creative individual who is passionate about the pastry craft to join us in a Junior Sous Chef (Pastry) capacity. This will be a junior leadership role that provides mentorship and guidance to the junior staff and will assist the Pastry Chef in running the team in her absence.

**You’ll be in charge of**:

- Setting up and stocking up stations with all necessary supplies
- Work with the Pastry Chef on planning and rostering for the team
- Oversee the Pastry Station and junior pastry cooks in the absence of the Pastry Chef
- Support and guide junior staff
- Preparing food for service (mise-en-place)
- Preparing and plating for pastry station menu items
- Answering, reporting and following superior’s instructions
- Cleaning up station and taking care of leftover food
- Handling stock inventory appropriately

**Requirements**:

- 3-5 years of experience within the Pastry department, ideally in a CDP role mínimally
- Experience in pastry production or service within a formal dining restaurant will be prioritised
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Organizing and leadership skills
- Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
- Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
- Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field
