**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

Mandai Rainforest Resort is looking for a passionate and skilled Junior Sous Chef for our Pastry Kitchen. In this role, you will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the pastry section, ensuring exceptional quality, creativity, and consistency in all dessert and baked offerings.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in managing day-to-day operations of the pastry section.
- Supervise and mentor pastry Commis chefs and trainees.
- Ensure all pastry and bakery items meet high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Collaborate on seasonal and themed menu planning, incorporating sustainable, locally sourced ingredients.
- Maintain high levels of hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with SFA and resort policies.
- Support with inventory control, ordering, and cost management under the guidance of the Executive Pastry Chef.
- Ensure consistency in recipe execution, portion control, and plating standards.
- Provide creative input for special events, banquets, and high tea experiences.

**Job Requirements**
- Diploma or Certificate in Pastry & Baking or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior role.
- Strong technical knowledge in pastry, bakery, chocolate work, and plated desserts.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
