**Overall Job Objectives**:
Colabs is a community-based collaborative approach where diverse stakeholders come together to collectively address complex social issues and co-create solutions. It is a philanthropic initiative pioneered by NVPC and the Community Foundation of Singapore to drive collaboration by bringing together the public, private and social sectors to tackle challenges that no one stakeholder group or organisation can solve alone. Previous themes addressed related to Dementia, Migrant Workers, Seniors, Persons with Disability, and Children and Youth.
Colabs is part of the Strategy & Policy team in NVPC, that is responsible for:
- Developing and implementing the organizational strategy and defining short and long-term outcomes that advance NVPC’s vision and mission
- Defining NVPC’s strategic positioning leveraging its unique strengths and role in the external giving landscape
- Understanding the external environment, trends and developments on giving and implications on the organisation’s strategy
- Leading the strategic planning process including programme reviews, tracking and assessment of progress towards goals to ensure alignment with their original intent
- Driving and managing partnerships with key government stakeholders to advance NVPC’s strategic objectives and influence policies and programmes with national impact
**Core Duties And Responsibilities**:
**Colabs (75%)**
Colabs is a collaborative platform for social change. It aims to create a growing culture and practice of collaborative problem-solving to create sustained impact on complex social/policy issues through trisector partnerships.
- Head the Colabs program, including vision-casting, setting team KPIs, managing budget, stakeholder management, and leading a small team of staff and interns
- Develop and scale up Colabs to become the defining collaborative platform for social change, leveraging its unique value proposition to grow cross-sector collaboration on complex issues
- Share Colabs methodology and best practices with key trisector partners to expand the capability and capacity in the giving ecosystem to drive collective action towards solving social issues
- Build and steward a community of collaboration practitioners across stakeholder groups to deepen understanding of one another’s roles in addressing complex social issues across the giving ecosystem
- Work with strategic partners like MCCY SG Partnership Office, NCSS and ToteBoard to drive more impactful collaborations across the public, private, and social sectors to tackle relevant complex social issues
- Grow NVPC’s capabilities in collaborative ways/tools/techniques to strengthen organization-wide sense-making, strategic agility, and critical thinking skills
**Government Relations (10%)**
- Contribute towards organisational strategic objective of influencing policies and programmes with national impact by leveraging insights and relationships built through Colabs to deepen partnerships with the public sector
- Coordinate and work with other NVPC teams to develop strategic partnerships with the public sector
- Develop and drive stakeholder engagement plan to translate compelling and relevant actionable insights that help transform the giving ecosystem
**Strategy Development and Innovation (15%)**
- Identify opportunities to enhance organisational strategy through emerging global trends and best practices in the giving space
- Build and strengthen relationships with relevant global organisations such as IAVE and Points of Light to cross-pollinate ideas and programmes
- Shape and support the creation of a process and culture for spotting and prototyping new ways of giving
**Requirements**:
- Degree in Social Science / Business / Marketing (Additional Certification in Non-Profit Leadership / Social Work preferred)
- Prior experience in developing partnerships/relationship management ( Prior experience in community development will be an added advantage)
- At least 8 years of working experience in community development or strategy & program development
- Good understanding and grasp of issues pertaining to non-profit sector work
- Outgoing and comfortable in meeting and talking to people
- Strong people skills, with experience in multi-lateral engagement with key stakeholder groups
- Self-driven and motivated, Interest and passion for non-profit sector
