Singapore Ministry of Law Full time

**What the role is**
- The Legal Policy Group in the Ministry of Law (“MinLaw”) plays a critical role in upholding the rule of law, advancing access to justice, and ensuring a sound and progressive legal framework.

**What you will be working on**
- The officer will be assigned to a variety of ongoing and upcoming policy reviews and reforms in respect of the policy areas set out below:
1) Review laws, propose reforms and pursue new initiatives in areas including the following:
a. Civil and Legislative Policy Division (CLPD): Civil, family and community justice; constitutional and administrative law; matters relating to the rule of law, governance and access to justice
b. Criminal Policy Division (CPD): Criminal law and procedure, as well as constitutional/administrative and governance issues arising in the criminal context
2) Work with stakeholders and partners in the process of policy reviews, to develop creative and practical solutions to issues of national significance.
3) Take legislation through the parliamentary process, from working with the Attorney-General’s Chambers on legislative drafting, to engaging with and consulting experts and stakeholders, to providing support to principals for the introduction of legislation in Parliament.

- [Design for Implementation and Communication]: Develop policy that factors in strategic communications considerations upfront, and has a grounded perspective of implementation considerations

*Work Experience Required / Personal Traits*
- Basic law degree
- A minimum of 3-6 years’ post-qualification experience.
- A strong foundation in litigation and/or advisory work.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- A sharp, analytical mind.
- Self-motivation and discipline.
- Strong teamwork and ability to work with stakeholders.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-moving environment.
- A passion to serve the public and make a difference to society.
