**About Data Engineer Role**:
An Individual contributor role. As a Data Engineer, you will be a part of AE’s global supply chain function. Within the Supply Chain Planning function, you will support the specific data engineering needs as the function is heading toward its digital transformation. As a highly motivated Data Engineer, you will aid in data ingestion, integrate the data silo, set up some on-premises orchestration services for short-term endeavors, and support cloud migration initiatives. You will support internal teams in moving away from old working methods and developing the best practices. The Data Engineer is expected to work closely with key stakeholders and possesses the technical skills required to implement data engineering solutions that enable the use of data as a strategic asset. You will get an excellent chance to understand the supply chain function in detail from the professionals and opportunities to learn and grow in the Supply Chain data space.

**Responsibilities**
- Engage with the key stakeholders to understand the critical business data needs and the serving pattern of these stakeholders.
- Contribute to the design of our data lake and the development of all data assets and downstream warehouses/marts
- Implement automation wherever possible to streamline the process, minimizing the need for manual intervention & Develop and integrate an automated data validation and quality control mechanism throughout the pipeline
- Partner with data scientists and analysts to ensure an efficient and accurate flow of data into downstream analytics tools and reporting solutions
- Maintain up-to-date technical and operational documentation
- Support cloud initiatives and data asset migration with IT and internal teams.
- Play a key role in driving detailed technical project objectives and execution management, architecture design, and code reviews, demonstrating technical leadership.
- Support Proof of value initiatives with internal or external partners or vendors.
- Engage with global research, industry, and standards development communities to identify and implement new technologies and best practices

**Requirements**:
**Essential**
- Minimum 3 years of in-depth experience in working with a relational database system (eg. MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
- Proven experience in Python and delivery of production-grade code
- Knowledgeable in ETL/ELT processes, both design and implementation with experience building data pipelines that ingest various types of data sources into a database or data lake and populating a structured warehouse or data mart
- Experience working with senior business stakeholders

**Desirable**
- Experience with Azure Data Services and products like Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, Data Lake Storage, Delta Lake architecture, DevOps etc.
- Technical proficiency in Google Data Services and products like BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Data Fusion etc.
- Knowledge of data security and privacy practices and regulations, including data access controls and de-identification and protection of sensitive data
- Knowledge of Agile Scrum and Continuous Delivery practices
- Experience in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Good familiarity with data governance, master data, and metadata management.
- Knowledge of SAP and relevant data structure, extraction, preparation, and visualization tool. (e.g., SAP BW)
- Preferably with experience in Manufacturing or Supply Chain
