Area Sales Manager

Our client is a well-known mechanical service provider in the maritime industry providing top quality service and products to ship owners and managers worldwide, looking for a Sales Manager (APAC) to join their team in Singapore.
As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for initial contact with new clients, along with a local agent, if necessary, identifies commercial opportunities and is capable of converting them into orders.
Responsibilities will include:
- Serving as the point of contact for external relationships in relation to sales.
- Bearing responsibility for initial contact with new clients.
- Maintaining and intensifying relationships with existing clients.
- Providing commercial support to local agents.
- Fulfilling the role of technical partner for clients.
- Identifying market developments.
- Identifying competitor developments.
- Implementing active acquisition of business products and services.
- Following up on quotations issued by the Internal Sales Engineer.
- Preparing complex quotations in collaboration with the Internal Sales Engineer and the Service Coordinator.
- Sharing networking contacts with other regions.
- Carrying out all the activities required to achieve the objectives of the role.
- Serving as the client’s point of contact for all queries.
- Overseeing orders.
To be successful in this role, you must fulfil the following criteria:
- At least 3 years’ experience driving new sales for mechanical equipment to ship owners/ managers or shipyards
- To posses a Diploma or Bachelors Degree in a relevant field
- To have a hunter and results oriented personality
- Great communication skills, initiative and energy
