The Regional Station Manager is responsible to be in line with Group and airline strategies and quality standards, manages aircrafts, passenger and baggage handling activities in the region for AFKLM in order to guarantee excellent customer service and to ensure effective operations. He/She is also responsible for cost efficient handling processes, complying with airline safety requirements and delivery process, not only in station but also for those stations in the region functionally reporting to him/her for AF/KL, local (airport) authorities, AOC (Airline Operators Committee) and the handling agents and, where applicable, code share partners and third parties. He/She will also need to steer, development and monitors the Station Managers in the region.

**1. Compliance with group quality & airline safety stadards**:

- Negotiate and manage the contracts with handling companies, airport, IT providers and other suppliers
- Supervises passenger and aircraft handling companies
- Ensure the execution of Safety corrective action plan
- Ensures implementation of the Local Emergency Plan to allow immediate and efficient treatment of any crisis situation
- Manage relationships with the local Airport Authorities
- Plans and execute inspections of station in scope
- Monitor quality results, ensure station compliance with quality standards, and initates corrective actions
- Steers innovative customer expereience improvements projects in the region

**2. Budget Management / Cost Control**:

- Provides local and regional Management with relevant reports and accurate analysis on station costs and revenue.
- Ensure that Station Managers budgets are in line with regional guidelines, monitors their follow up, and initiate corrective actions when needed
- Is responsible for invoicing process

**3. Performance / Staff Satisfaction**:

- Responsible for the staff in the station and training.
- Advise the Country Manager to keep an efficient organisation in the stations.
- Leads and coaches direct reports, actively supporting their development.
- Appraise staff in line withth Establishment HR policies and procedures
- Participate in recruitment and selection

**Knowledge and competencies**:

- Strong understanding of airline industry.
- Professional/Technical Knowledge of aircraft handling process/systems
- Operational licenses at the required level for aircraft handling and/or Dangerous goods and at least some basic knowledge of aircraft load control and flight planning.
- Degree or Certificate in any field.
- Experience in Ground Services.
- Strong knowledge and experience of budgeting processes
