**Roles & Responsibilities**

**Key Responsibilities**:
Submarine Cable System Operation and Maintenance
- To monitor, analyse and report the performance of the terminal station equipment.
- To plan, implement and report the performance of routine cable system maintenance check and measurement for the terminal station equipment.
- To plan, implement, monitor and report the cable system configuration data back-up.
- To ensure that planned cable system maintenance tasks are carried within specified maintenance time window.
- To manage the terminal station equipment maintenance spare inventory and maintain up-to-date inventory records.
- To manage the station test instrument calibration program and maintain up-to-date calibration records.
- To develop and maintain the procedures for the proper operation and maintenance of the terminal station equipment.
- To ensure prompt response, troubleshooting, analysis and resolution of terminal station equipment alarms and faults and ensure prompt escalation to the vendors and network operation centres (NOCs) wherever necessary.
- To submit the cable station reports covering terminal station equipment, power plants, station facilities and station practices as required by the Operation & Maintenance Sub-Committee of the cable consortiums.

Cable Landing Station DC Power Plants (including batteries) and AC Inverters
- To monitor, analyse and report the performance of the DC power plants and AC inverters.
- To plan, implement and report the performance of routine cable system maintenance check and measurement for the DC power plants and AC inverters.
- To monitor and report the power loading of the DC power plants and AC inverter and ensure that the loadings are 50% or less.
- To manage the DC power plants and AC inverters maintenance spare inventory and maintain up-to-date inventory records.
- To develop and maintain the procedures for the proper operation and maintenance of the DC power plants and AC inverters.
- To ensure prompt response, troubleshooting, analysis and resolution of DC power plants and AC inverters alarms and faults and ensure prompt escalation to the vendors and network operation centres (NOCs) wherever necessary.
- To arrange and maintain vendor support arrangement for the DC power plants and AC inverters.
- To procure or replace the DC power plants and AC inverters to fulfil new power demand, or address issues of obsolescence or performance degradation.

Cable Landing Station Facilities
- To ensure the operation of the cable landing stations are in compliance with the Singtel Workplace Safety and Health guideline, the Singtel Facility Resiliency Review guidelines, the IMDA Telecommunications Infrastructure Resiliency Audit controls, the CIS20 framework and the Singtel Business Continuity Management requirement.
- To conduct regular inspection on the station building facilities and report to the Singtel Maintenance Agency of the cable landing stations on any E&M issues for prompt remedies.

Backhaul Connection, Cable System Connections and Station Interconnection
- To ensure timely testing and delivery of circuit connection between cable system and Singtel backhaul equipment.
- To ensure timely delivery of circuit connection within and between cable systems as per the request of the cable consortium network administrators.
- To ensure timely delivery of interconnection between cable system and Facility Based Operator’s backhaul equipment as per the instruction of the Singtel NII Department.

New Cable System and Upgrade Projects
- To plan and prepare the equipment room to meet the Ready For Installation Date of new cable system projects and upgrade projects.
- To supervise the vendor installation works in the cable landing stations.

Station Operation Management
- To manage the cable station operation team including the duty roster, recalls after normal working hours, and the staff training and development.
- To manage the cable station operating and capital expenses.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum a Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of working experience in managerial capacity in telecom/IT industry.
- Knowledge in optical transmission. Those with submarine cable system and power system knowledge would have an advantage.
- Experience in ISO9001 or ISO22301 certification.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good in using MS Office, especially Excel for data analysis.
- Experience in project and inventory management.
- Excellent verbal and written communications.
