Job Description
The financial services landscape is evolving at an unprecedented pace of change and KPMG is at the heart of this change. At KPMG, you will work across a broad range of financial institutions, including private banks, commercial banks, digital banks, capital markets intermediaries, payment services providers, and fintechs. Our global network of experienced professionals offer tailored services to clients and provide deep industry knowledge, insightful opinions, and technology-enabled delivery to help improve processes, governance and strategy to address financial and operational risks and drive business performance. You will help financial institutions enhance performance, enable better decision-making and satisfy compliance demands by shaping their risk strategy, improving risk-adjusted performance and implementing pragmatic recommendations.
**You would be expected to contribute in the following ways**:
- Helping our fintech and digital banking clients uplift their regulatory compliance processes and controls, including development of regulatory policies and procedures and sharing of insights and best practices by leveraging the knowledge base and capabilities of our Global Fintech network
- Working with financial institutions on regulatory compliance matters such as advising on regulatory definitions and interpretations, performing quality reviews of existing risk processes and controls and developing relevant regulatory risk processes and controls to help manage the institutions’ regulatory obligations

- Developing regulatory governance frameworks, policies and procedures to enable effective management of regulatory risks for financial institutions
- Providing internal audit services to financial institutions
- Providing regulatory specialist resources to financial institutions to assist them in special projects, to support short-to-long term regulatory projects
- Providing customised training for clients including senior executives of financial institutions on banking and capital markets laws and regulations
- Keep up-to-date with technology trends in the financial services industry and bring any learnings to the table as to drive the successful adoption of innovative solutions for clients
- Driving business development initiatives, including working with our Solutions team on ideation and development of regulatory tools to enable our clients manage their regulatory risks efficiently
- Managing teams and client stakeholders, project delivery timelines and delivery quality

**Experience and skills required**:
- Excellent academic background, including a Bachelor or Master degree in Accountancy, Banking and Finance, or Law. Professional qualification in CFA/FRM would be a plus
- At least 6-7 years relevant experience in financial institutions, compliance advisory firms, or public accounting firms
- Sound understanding of the key operations of a banking institution, capital markets intermediary and/or payment services provider. An understanding of derivatives and financial instruments is required
- Knowledge of the Singapore’s Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act, and/or Payment Services Act and the relevant subsidiary legislations and regulatory requirements issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore
- Keen interest in risk and controls, fintech/regtech, as well as the financial services landscape
- Ability to work across KPMG and our clients at different levels in the organisation and with people from different cultures. KPMG is a globally minded organisation
- Experience in managing teams and mentoring individuals will be an added advantage
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and presentation/report writing skills, combined with a good understanding of business dynamics and commercial value drivers
- High proficiency in both verbal and written English is essential. Chinese or other Southeast Asian language skills are an added advantage
