DESIGNATION : Assistant Manager, Marketing and Communications (3-year contract), SMU Academy
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build strong corporate branding communications for SMU Academy.
- Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.
- Partner internal stakeholders to understand priorities and programmes, and to effectively develop and implement communications plans to drive awareness of programmes and initiatives.
- Coordinate with the SMU corporate communications team to oversee aspects of media communication management work, including researching and writing media releases, media replies, media materials, handling media events as well as highlight points for speaking engagement and speeches for all matters related to SMU Academy.
- Participate in the development of C-Suite communications to grow mindshare of SMU Academy’s initiatives and programmes.
- Coordinate and prepare regular reports and presentation materials of SMU Academy’s strategy for key committees or in response to requests for information.
- Undertake editorial duties for corporate literature, including but not limited to annual report, pitch decks, policy announcements, website content, blog, social media content creation and newsletters.
- Work closely with various teams to harmonise plans and messaging with intended audiences from strategic lens.
- Oversee issues management and timely crisis communications for incidents related to SMU Academy, and lead the preparation of communications plans and media replies.
- Assist in other ad-hoc Corporate Communications matters as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent communication abilities including writing (both short and long form writing) and verbal communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business correspondence, public relations, advertising, marketing and sales copy and social media.
- Independent worker and a team player with the ability to effectively engage with team members of all levels and across departments.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Content writing experience for all media platforms.
- Proven social media and networking expertise.
- Strategic and creative mindset.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Role will be required to present to the management (Clusters Leads, Pillar Heads and Executive Director).
