**Job Description**:
JOB SUMMARY
The National Tuberculosis Programme (STEP) administers the national TB registry, surveillance of TB cases in the country and conducts public health actions for the control of TB. In this position, you will be part of the Tuberculosis Adherence (TBA) team and will be involved in:
a) Carrying out actions under the Infectious Diseases Act for TB cases / matters relating to the cases and the implementation of policies for TB control.
b) Provide public health operational support for contact tracing and cluster investigations.
c) Day to day operation of the TB treatment facility (TBTF).
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC
1) Public health actions for TB control
a. Issuance of warnings and legal orders under the Infectious Diseases Act for TB cases who default treatment or follow-up, and contacts of TB cases who default contact screening.
b. Inter-agency liaison in the tracing of TB screening and/or treatment defaulters, and the management of MDRTB cases.
c. Carry out information screening operations and alert carding/removal for monitoring purposes.
d. Support the investigation of cases of public health concern, including those in breach of legal orders.
e. Provide support to the Team Lead in the management of TB Treatment Facility (TBTF) operations.
f. Support the national TB programme in major TB screening exercises.
g. Link up with international counterparts via Singapore’s International Health Regulations National Focal Point (IHR NFP) for TB cases.
h. Provide any additional public health operational support to the national TB programme that may be necessary.
GENERAL
1) Other responsibilities may include administrative duties pertaining to department operations such as work place health and fire safety, office administration, etc.
2) Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- A diploma in any discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years of working experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in handling difficult people and situations is preferred.
