**What will I be doing?**
The Assistant Manger - In Room Dining assists the F&B Operations Manager with the management of the Department, in line with Conrad standards, brand pillars and prescribed Hilton policies and procedures. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist the F&B Operations Manager in achieving the monthly budget.
- Ensure the grooming standard are being met and maintained, demonstrating a professional image for our guests
- Always be present in operations during the “golden time”.
- Monitor the training calendar and employee development in order to promote a climate of enthusiasm and encouragement
- Respond proactively to guest queries and to ensure appropriate action is taken in the absence of the manager, followed by effective communication
- Ensure that guest satisfaction is monitored and where appropriate, rectified throughout their meal experience
- Prepare the Duty Roster on a weekly basis and ensure that the Department is properly staffed to par, at all times
- Complete the Attendance Report for payroll purposes
- Conduct departmental orientation for all new team members
- Assist in recruiting qualified people, train employees in order to achieve the standards of service.
- Be involved in identifying employees’ needs, to develop employees and coordinate training when needed.
- Maintain a high level of employee morale.
- Participate and assist in conducting yearly performance evaluation ensuring reviews are completed in a timely manner.
- Participate in counselling and discipline staff when needed ensuring proper follow up action is taken.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
- Assume the role and the duties of IRD manager in his or her absence.
- Follow up on service procedures based on the Conrad standard as stated in standard training manual.
- Ensure the consistency of quality and efficiency of food and service.
- Manage the daily operations in IRD, Minibar and Pool Bar.
- Monitor all amenities inside the hotel/rooms so they are delivered on time and are properly maintained
- Ensure the correct and consistent service techniques for various meal periods will be demonstrated by all staff members.
- Ensure the cleanliness of IRD by enforcing cleaning procedures.
- Assist in creating new Room Services or Amenity or Poolside menu / beverage every quarter of the year as necessary.
- Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- Assist in effective and efficient methods for setting order properly.
- Complete IRD payroll and any paperwork as it pertains to personnel and the department i.e., PSA's, warning, auditor's envelopes, cover count, log, etc.
- Assist in preparation of the staff schedules according to forecasts, daily and weekly payroll reports and scheduled functions.
- Execute functions or special receptions in rooms and suites
- Participate in regular staff meetings to keep employees informed of hotel policies and changes as well as ways to increase sales and service.
- Ensure all equipment is kept in perfect working condition and reports any deficiencies to the proper department.
- Assist in training order takers in proper selling and selling techniques. Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
