Job Description Summary

HarbourVest is seeking a Client Onboarding Associate to lead the fund closing processes by coordinating individual efforts across the firm. This person will work closely with investor relations, investment staff, legal, compliance, tax, treasury, accounting, and marketing to bring all parties together to create an optimal and efficient process and client experience.

- Preferred private equity market knowledge particularly with closing investors into co-mingled funds
- Language skills are a plus (Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean)
- Responsibilities
- Fund Closing & Onboarding - 90% of time- Direct and coordinate the activities associated with closing clients into funds, working closely with investments, sales, marketing, compliance, legal / regulatory, tax, accounting, and custom solutions-
- Work closely with the Client Onboarding team members to manage the processes according to planned timelines and manage priorities across different stakeholders.-
- Develop working relationships with stakeholders to keep informed about all upcoming activity by clarifying current statuses, expectations, monitoring risks, and ensuring engagement as schedules change.-
- Manage third party engagement in relation to the closing and onboarding processes- Continuous Improvement/Special Projects - 10% of time- Collaborate with the closing team to identify best practices, drive for increased efficiencies and ensure consistency in processes, procedures, and exception handling across clients-
- Understand critical process elements and linkages to customers, suppliers, and other processes and develop institutional knowledge of business, investment, and operational issues that can be leveraged across all projects-
- Assist in developing new solutions by developing business cases to evaluate initiatives and supporting initiatives through implementation- Education
- BS/BA or equivalent
- Work Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in institutional, financial service, preferably in private equity
