It is expected that this job will comprise a mix of education related activities including, but not limited to: face to face teaching, curriculum development and review, and involvement in assessment activities, scholarship and medical education research. There may also be opportunities to undertake a pastoral care role through the School’s House System.

**The post holder will**:

- provide support to the medical education team (including Assistant Dean Years 1 & 2, Module and Course Leads, fellow Education Associates etc) at LKCMedicine and liaise with the wider education teams in the Office of Medical Education, to ensure the curriculum runs efficiently and is kept up-to-date;
- Collaborate with the Lead for **Clinical Communication **to enhance the Clinical Communication and Medical Language components of the Foundations of Clinical Practice Course (FCP) and ensure efficient and effective delivery of this curriculum. This also includes working with and training simulated patients.
- Contribute to clinical communication (CC) and medical language (ML), and medical humanities (MH)sessions teaching as a facilitator
- Contribute to Course Evaluation, including feedback processes, curriculum review and development for specified areas of the curriculum;
- Contribute to the examination bank by writing and quality assuring examination items (e.g. OSCE scenarios) when needed, and participate in examination item standard setting and review meetings and follow-up with revision of examination items as required;
- Contribute to medical education scholarship and research;
- Support other education and service activities when required (e.g. student outreach events), at the request of the reporting officer

**Requirements**:

- MBBS or Masters/PhD equivalent essential (e.g. basic science or psychology background)
- Postgraduate qualification in medical education desirable
- Teaching experience (undergraduate medical education, if possible)
- Excellent communication skills
- An enthusiasm for undergraduate education
- Ability to work well in a team
- Adaptable and flexible

This is a one year contract appointment.
