**Duties**:
The Grants Management Specialist (Training) is responsible for helping design, develop, and deliver financial grants management training, instruction, and technical assistance for staff, applicants, and grantees/sponsors throughout the grant life cycle: pre-award, award, and post-award.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Supporting creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures, resource manuals, templates, and other documents to be used during the grant life cycle by staff and grantees/sponsors.
- Developing curricula and materials to educate staff, applicants, and grantees/sponsors to support the grant life cycle such as: federal financial accounting standards and interpretation and implementation of agency policies, guidelines, and systems related to financial grants management.
- Presenting complex financial grants management information to a variety of audiences through synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
- Determining the need for, and initiating, changes and updates in resource content.
- Keeping the supervisor and other senior leadership apprised of activities through reports and/or briefings, highlighting potential areas of vulnerability and training needs of staff and grantees/sponsors.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:
- Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the upper range of the NY-02 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: developing, designing and evaluating training programs, courses, materials and aids **AND** interpreting to grantees grant management policies, procedures, and practices to ensure program consistency.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps VISTA) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

- **Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or;**:

**Such education must be from an accredited institution and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. You must submit an unofficial copy of your college transcript. You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S. educational standards.**
