Grant Compliance and Audit Specialist

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Grant Compliance and Audit Specialist to join our Internal Audit Department. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of resources, safeguarding of assets and resources, and compliance with established policies, procedures, applicable laws and regulations.

  • You will conduct audits on grant recipients to ensure compliance with funding terms and conditions, identify discrepancies or irregularities in grant usage, and evaluate internal controls related to grant management.
  • Develop and review grant audit frameworks and procedures, leveraging data to monitor and fine-tune strategies as well as drive process improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance on compliance and control measures, and manage the delivery and performance of service providers/appointed auditors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in internal/external audit.
  • Proficient in use of technology, tools or ground intelligence to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong partnership and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in disruptions or new challenges.
  • Possess strong policy acumen as well as good writing, project management and presentation skills.
  • Good analytical skills with advanced hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
