
Assistant Manager

As the Assistant Manager / Manager of the Communications Department, you will play a key role in driving communications activities for the Federation, particularly in the areas of media relations and social/ digital communications.
You should be creative, driven, and passionate about making a difference in the local business community. A strong work ethic and the ability to excel under deadline pressure is a must. As a member of a small team, you must be a good team player who is adaptable, collaborative and brings constructive ideas to the table.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in articulating SBF’s vision, mission, value proposition and organisational objectives to garner appropriate perception and image of the Federation, befitting its stature as apex business chamber
- Assist in key message development and corporate story telling by tapping on the full range of communications channels - mainstream media, social media, website, EDMs etc.
- Cultivate and enhance media relations by providing timely responses to media queries, drafting press releases, media invites and speeches, organising media briefings, facilitating media interviews etc.
- Develop corporate materials, including SBF’s annual reports, corporate brochures, corporate videos, corporate gifts etc.
- Management of the Federation’s digital assets including the corporate website and SBF’s online magazine BiZQ
- Work closely with business units on content creation and production of EDMs to drive participation in the Federation’s activities
- Manage the social media calendar and curate engaging and relatable content that speaks directly to target audience
- Assist in daily media monitoring and other duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- At least 3- 5 years of relevant work experience
- Mass Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Arts & Social Sciences, or related discipline
- Excellent writing proficiency with the ability to develop communication materials in an impactful, succinct, and clear manner (writing samples required)
- Well-versed in media relations with proven track record of pitching to the media
- Strong digital marketing skills with proven experience in social media management
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage a wide spectrum of external and internal stakeholders, including government agencies and cross-functional teams
- Resourceful, meticulous and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Canva, Photoshop, Informz and Joomla (or other CMS systems) is an advantage
