**Job Summary**:
The Industrial Relations Manager is key in fostering a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with labour laws/regulations, and managing industrial relations matters across the organization. This position is responsible for negotiating collective agreements, addressing employee grievances, and supporting managers with employee relations. In addition, the role leads and supports HR special projects aimed at enhancing organisational effectiveness and driving strategic HR initiatives.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Industrial Relations**:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, management, and labor unions.
- Design and implement industrial relations strategies that promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Lead negotiation and manage collective agreements with unions and employee representatives.
- Oversee grievance handling, dispute resolution, and disciplinary actions under company policies and legal standards.
- Ensures ongoing compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations, staying updated on changes and advising the organization accordingly.
- **Employee Relations**:
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues.
- Conduct investigations into employee relations concerns, recommending and facilitating fair and equitable resolutions.
- **Special Projects**:
- Lead and support special HR projects aimed at improving organisational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement HR initiatives.
- Analyse HR data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial relations and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proven experience in managing HR projects and initiatives.
- Experience working within a unionised environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
