**Objectives**:
- Provide leadership and guidance in Quality Management Certifications and Non-Conformance Management (NCM) Quality agreements of the Global Business Unit (BU)
- Perform dedicated responsibility/ownership for Quality Management (QM) for the Engineering Plastic Business and support other business owners on expertise/ functional level
- Lead the audits to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls in daily processes as well as their compliance with company and business guidelines
- Ensure Global BU meet or exceeds agreed quality targets through implementation of systems and procedures to meet business goals
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage Quality System Certification of Global BU, including affected production sites within the BU requirements / QM System
- Lead and set up global processes to improve customer satisfaction
- Chair regular meeting with Quality Managers and prepare Monthly Quality Report
- Coordinate external bodies (customers, suppliers, certification auditors) on quality related activities
- Responsible for achievement of Quality KPI’s. Construct and agree on appropriate improvement actions and deadlines with the plants / countries if required.
- Lead the quality assurance & product specification agreements
- Provide guidance on the management of product specification and agreements
- Resolve conflicts and provide resolutions to ensure that the Company and Customer requirements are met
- Drive improvements based on trend analysis
- Support in implementing of special projects / tasks
- Responsible for product periodical testing (local Manufactured grade) at planned interval for global quality consistency check and initiate improvement as applicable
- Implement system tools (e.g. SAP QM) for efficient data management to facilitate analysis
- Lead the non-conformance management system
- Responsible for Finished goods NCM's resolutions in plants, Tollers and Service providers and raw material non-conformance
- Close collaborations with Plant and Quality managers, Sales, Technical and Supply Chain (and Service providers) to deliver effective solutions. Ensure root cause(s) is identified and corrective actions assigned.
- Drive customer complaint settlement needs including compensation and manage customer recalls to minimize risk to the business. Visit customer(s) including presentation to customer to resolve customer complaints
- Conduct Supplier & Toller audits to assess the effectiveness of the supplier Quality Management System to meet BU requirements
- Pre-empt / highlight potential business impacts from NCM to Senior Management, including recommendations and resolutions to overcome the challenges
- Regional Quality Audit at Plants, Development centres and Tollers
- Develop audit plans and define its scope, objective, and duration.
- Lead the audit, set clear targets for team members with proper guidance to achieve them. Provide mentorship to new/existing Quality Auditors
- Identify potential quality issues that might have significant impact to the business, highlight opportunity for improvements and follow up closely on the resolutions with the Plant Quality Managers
- Training and communication for process efficiency and effectiveness improvement
- Acts as Global quality representative, exchange information with regional BU for improvements in NCM
- Support Product Stewardship activities
- Key shared accountabilities:
- Supports product recalls
- Contributes to contract management
- Contributes to specifications management
- Supports customer request handling (quality and management system related)
- Supports implementation of improvement measures
- Report KPIs/scorecard
**Requirements**:
- Degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Engineering Plastics (Chemical)
- At least 10 years of total experience in Production, Quality Assurance and/or Product Stewardship function with at least minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Capability to drive a QMS system in a complex organization such as regional business unit. Use BASF global resources in the most cost-effective way (acting as an entrepreneur)
- Very good understanding of quality/Environmental Safety standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 18001, ISO 14001) and requirements concerning product stewardship for non-hazardous materials (at least minimum to have sound knowledge in ISO 9001)
- Capability to resolve complex high risk customers’ complaints that might result in recall.
