National Gallery Singapore is a leading visual arts institution which oversees the world’s largest public collection of Singapore and Southeast Asian modern art. Situated at the birthplace of modern Singapore, in the heart of the Civic District, the Gallery is housed in two national monuments - City Hall and former Supreme Court - that have been beautifully restored and transformed into this exciting 64,000 square metre venue. In 2020, the Gallery was the only museum in Southeast Asia that received a ranking in The Art Newspaper’s annual global survey of attendance at art museums, taking 20th place. It was the first museum in Asia to receive the Children in Museums Award by the European Museum Academy and Hands On International Association of Children in Museums in 2018. The Gallery also won the awards for “Best Theme Attraction” at TTG Travel Awards 2017, “Best Attraction Experience”, “Breakthrough Contribution to Tourism” and “Best Customer Service (Attractions)” at the prestigious Singapore Tourism Awards in 2016 for its role in adding to the vibrancy of Singapore’s tourism landscape.

DESIGNATION : Assistant Manager (Workplace Safety & Health)

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a Secretary for the Gallery’s Workplace Safety and Health Committee
- Conduct regular safety inspections and monitor compliance on workplace safety
- Enforces safety rules and regulation
- Provide safety training and awareness for the Gallery
- Takes the lead in accident and incident investigations
- Ensures the term contractors comply with safety requirements before work commencement
- Oversee and administer the permit to work system for high hazardous works in the gallery
- Takes the lead in risk assessment and job safety analysis and establishing safe work procedures
- Responsible for maintaining safety certifications for the Gallery

QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Safety Officer with Ministry of Manpower
- Certified Fire Safety Manager would be advantageous
- Certified Work at height assessor
- Au fait with Bizsafe and ISO 450001 audit and certification process
- Ability to integrate and play an important role in a large and fast paced team.
- Ability to manage projects simultaneously.
- Flexible approach to working hours, as and when the business levels demand.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Medically and physically fit, good team player with initiative.
- May need to work on rotating shifts, weekends
