The Office of Health and Safety (OHS) champions the health and safety management in NTU. OHS manages university level health and safety programmes, such as radiation safety, chemical safety, electrical safety, amongst others. OHS is also responsible for establishing frameworks and systems that will support the promotion and sharing of best practices in safety and health among Colleges/Schools/Research Centres and Departments in the University.

**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the newly established biosafety & occupational health unit in OHS- Develop University level biosafety, biosecurity and occupational health related policies and standards- Manage and lead a team of safety and health officers overseeing the University’s biosafety and occupational health programme- Propose strategic enhancements to biosafety policies and programmes using data analytics- Manage IT & AI systems related to biosafety management- Conduct safety training on offices & laboratory-based faculties/research institutes for staff and students- Manage and lead the School and Department Health and Safety team in developing and implementing their safety and health management systems- Provide strategic and value added solutions to stakeholders such as faculty, management and students on workplace safety and health issues and ways to minimise or eliminate risks and hazards- Liaise with governmental bodies and regulatory agencies- Conduct biosafety audits and inspections of offices, research laboratories and their supporting facilities- Conduct investigations for accidents and incidents that takes place in laboratory-based faculties/research institutes with the safety committee members

**Requirements**:
- Preferably a recognized Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences or Public Health with some educational qualifications in safety, health & environmental protection - Diploma/Specialist Diploma/Certificate in Biosafety, Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene.- Relevant experience working in life science research laboratories.- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Safety & Health Management/Occupational Health/Occupational Hygiene, preferably at the corporate or institutional level.- At least 3 years of experience managing teams or units.- Registered biosafety coordinator or equivalent certifications.
