**Responsibilities**:
Work closely with relevant stakeholders to develop comprehensive policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and guidelines for biosafety within the BSL-3 Facility.
Ensure that all approved biosafety measures are effectively implemented and adhered to within the facility to mitigate risks associated with handling hazardous materials.
Design and deliver training programs on biorisk management to staff members, ensuring they are well-versed in safety protocols and procedures.
Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between the BSL-3 Facility and stakeholders, as well as regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Facilitate meetings related to BSL3 safety and serve as a liaison for addressing any safety concerns or issues raised by facility users.
Provide expert advice and recommendations to the Biorisk Management Committee on matters related to biorisk management to ensure effective risk mitigation strategies are in place.
Oversee and verify that all experiments and procedures conducted within the BSL-3 Facility comply with relevant standards, regulations, and institutional requirements.
Facilitate the annual certification process of the BSL-3 Facility by relevant regulatory authorities.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify any non-compliance issues with the BSL3 Bio-Containment Safety Manual and promptly report them for resolution.
Develop materials and deliver presentations on biosafety topics to both internal staff and external stakeholders to promote awareness and understanding of safety protocols.
Keep meticulous records of all safety-related activities, incidents, and inspections, and generate comprehensive reports as needed.
Provide support to the lab manager in various administrative tasks related to the efficient operation of the laboratory service.
Offer ongoing support and assistance to team leaders and members within the laboratory, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and adherence to safety protocols.

**Requirements**:
Bachelors Degree in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Virology, or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years experience working in a BSL-2 laboratory.
Qualified Biosafety Coordinator/Officer is an added advantage.
Familiarity with ISO35001/ISO17025/ISO9001 is advantageous.
Experience in preparing SOPs is beneficial.
Experience in pathogens related lab work, basic molecular biology, and cellular biology techniques is advantageous.
Experience in animal handling is a plus.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation.
Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly motivated with a willingness to learn new techniques/software.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection equipment, during experiments/training/emergency response/inspection.
