**What you will be doing.**:
As our **Regional Director -Maritime -Asia Pacific**, you will play a pivotal role in steering the maritime business across the region. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the strategic development and execution of the company’s long-term strategy while ensuring effective monitoring and positive management of the regional maritime business's profit and loss (P&L).
Key aspects of this role will involve fostering relationships with existing clients and developing new client opportunities. Additionally, you will engage in chargeable work to support business growth and client retention efforts.
The key dimensions of the role will be:
- Manage the Regional Maritime Team effectively.
- Provide strategic vision and leadership for Maritime operations.
- Drive growth of the Maritime business in collaboration with Country Managers and the Global Maritime Managing Director.
- Plan and monitor regional performance against budgets.
- Develop annual financial budgets focused on revenue and cost management.
- Make strategic hiring decisions and optimize regional resource utilization.
- Ensure gross margin meets or exceeds targets.
- Cultivate client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Oversee the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Represent ABL Group at presentations and regional market events.
- Enhance work processes to deliver high-quality customer service.
- Engage in the cash collection process actively.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, laws, and company policies, leading by example.
- Assume responsibility for Quality and HSE aspects in the region, promoting compliance with QHSE policies and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
**What we are looking for.**:
To thrive in this position, you should have a strong background in business development and strategy, coupled with proven leadership skills and the ability to drive growth in the maritime sector. Experience in client relationship management, financial planning, and resource optimization is essential. Additionally, a deep understanding of industry trends and regulations will be crucial for navigating challenges and seizing opportunities in the region. In addition, you will have:
- Master Mariner (STCW II/2), Chief Engineer (STCW III/2), or equivalent with significant survey/marine consultancy experience, including Expert Witness or legal-related training.
- Minimum of 10 years in the Marine Consultancy industry or relevant alternative experience.
- Proven track record in Expert Witness, Consulting, Marine Management, and H&M or P&I matters.
**Competencies and capabilities**:
- Strategic thinker with strong technical, analytical, and operational skills.
- Strong legal, commercial, and financial acumen.
- Proficient in Marine and Engineering Consultancy for Offshore and Maritime markets.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to contributing to company growth.
