**Job Brief**

We are looking for a competent and experienced restaurant server who are willing to learn about wine and act in the near future has **Wine Advisers **.

TUGA is a Portuguese Wine & Gourmet products shop. Simultaneously we are a Portuguese restaurant, who serves food as a specific “tool” to support the sales of our wine & gourmets’ products.

As a starting point, you should be able, and be experience, to take and deliver orders in the restaurant.

Please always remember that you will be the “front face” of our restaurant, and you will be the front responsible for our customers’ experiences.

Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages.

You need to be **quick on your feet **(literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude.

A **smiling attitude **is a must and there is an important saying in restaurant business that is “ _The client is always righteven if it is wrong _”. Never ignore a complain, as silly as it looks, asnd get the help and assistance of your manager when necessary.

You will be the “front face” of TUGA and, a part of your skills to be an efficient restaurant server, your attitude facing the Clients is a key point for our staff selection. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers.

**Training on Portuguese Wines & Gourmet products**
- TUGA will provide to all our restaurant servers **adequate and intensive training on Portuguese Wines & Gourmet products **. **Your willing to learn is a must **.
- On staff working conditions, TUGA philosophy is more than providing a good work environment. We deliver a professional career to our staff.
- From the beginning you will receive intensive training on wines, starting from general knowledge about wine, up to understanding of the Portuguese Wine Regions, DOCs, native grapes, etc.
- More you progress well, more we will invest on your training, such as supporting you on getting Wine Courses certificated, etc, all done and programmed under specific working conditions to be defined.
- Your training will be continuously at all the time.
- We will have regular visits from the Wineries and Winemakers that we represent, and dedicated training sessions will be occurred with regularity when they visit us.

**General responsibilities**
- Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
- Attend to customers upon entrance
- Present restaurant menus and help customers select food, wines and beverages
- Take and serve orders
- Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/ bar staff
- Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Issue bills and accept payment

**Requirements**:

- Passion for being a future Wine Adviser
- Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience
- Attention to cleanliness and safety
- Patience and customer-oriented approach
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Hands-on experience in cashier duties could be a consideration on recruitment
