Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced, passionate, and certified Wine Specialist / Sommelier to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a true wine expert with a proven track record in sales, customer service, and wine program management. This role is pivotal in elevating our customers' wine journey, driving sales, and maintaining the integrity and appeal of our wine offerings across both our retail and wine bar concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

● Wine Expertise & Customer Engagement:
Act as the primary wine expert for all customers in both the retail and wine bar settings.

○ Provide expert, personalized wine recommendations tailored to individual preferences, occasions, and food pairings.

○ Educate customers on various wine regions, varietals, vintages, and producers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation.

○ Conduct engaging and informative wine tastings and educational sessions for customers.

○ Build strong, lasting relationships with customers, fostering loyalty and repeat business.

● Sales & Performance:

○ Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets for wine in both retail and wine bar environments.

○ Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to wine sales, customer satisfaction, and inventory turnover.

○ Implement strategies to optimize wine sales and profitability.

● Wine Program Management:

○ Maintain and continuously curate our diverse wine selection

○ Responsible for the proper storage, inventory management, and rotation of wine products.

○ Conduct regular inventory checks and minimize shrinkage.

○ Stay abreast of industry trends, new releases, and market dynamics to keep our wine offerings fresh and exciting.

○ Manage cellar temperature and conditions to ensure optimal wine preservation.

● Operational Excellence & Collaboration:

○ Work closely with the Store/Operations Manager to ensure a seamless and exceptional overall customer experience across all aspects of the multi-concept space.

○ Collaborate with kitchen staff to suggest wine pairings for food menus.

○ Ensure all wine service standards are met or exceeded, including proper decanting, pouring, and glassware maintenance.

○ Maintain a pristine and organized wine display in the retail area and bar.

○ Assist with general store operations as needed, contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.

● Event Planning & Execution:

○ Organize, and execute engaging wine events, tastings, workshops, and private functions within the space.

○ Manage all aspects of event setup, including table arrangements, glassware, and tasting materials.

○ Promote events to attract attendees and maximize participation.

○ Provide expert commentary and guidance during events.

Qualifications:

● Certifications: WSET Level 3 Advanced Certification or equivalent (e.g., CMS Certified Sommelier) is required. WSET Diploma or CMS Advanced Sommelier is highly desirable.

● Experience:

○ Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Wine Specialist / Sommelier in a restaurant, wine bar, or fine dining establishment.

○ Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving customer satisfaction in a retail or hospitality setting.

○ Experience in wine list curation and inventory management.

○ Demonstrated ability to host and execute wine events.

● Knowledge:

○ Good knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, vintages, and producers.

○ Deep understanding of wine production, viticulture, and enology.

○ Familiarity with various wine service techniques and cellar management.

○ Strong understanding of food and wine pairing principles.
