Segment Planning Leader

The Segment Planning Leader ensures seamless execution and the orchestrator of business planning activities across the 3 pillars of IBP - Product, Demand and Supply by working closely with all the APAC Markets (Commercial and Operation teams), Regional Strategic Marketing for the relevant segment(s) and the relevant Global teams including Global CoE.
Key to success would be prioritizing and analyzing the relevant information necessary at each of the planning steps to enable decision making and problem solving, through the IBP process, by proactively communicating and bringing insight to the multiple business leaders involved in the IBP process.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Working closely with Commercial teams as well as Commercial Operations (primarily planning focused) teams in various APAC countries for the specific segment(s) to improve forecast accuracy and removing bias from their IBP plans in line with annual targets and glide paths as might be regularly set.
- On a rotational basis, cover at least 3 markets every month for their segment(s) focused demand management preparatory meetings with prime objective of pressure testing assumptions (Implants and Instrument Plan) and supporting in evaluation of Vulnerabilities and Opportunities while managing gap/surplus between IBP plans (Revenue from Implants perspective and Capex from Instruments perspective) and business targets.
- Support expeditious resolution of Supply escalations from APAC markets, in the relevant segment(s), by working closely with the relevant IBP and E2E planners in Global Supply Chain teams by following a weekly cadence.
- Work with countries to build initiative pipeline around achievement of budgeted Gross Inventory $ as well as pressure test overall projected Inventory $ at the Country-Segment level.
- Work with countries to build initiative pipeline around continuous optimization of Capex $ focusing on Asset efficiencies for the Country-Segment in focus. Meeting the annual budgeted/rolling financial target of Capex $ at the Country-Segment level.
- Oversight of phase in /phase out, New Product Introductions and Retirement (Rationalization) plans for key markets during their Demand Review meeting as per agreement at the Business Unit (group of segments) Portfolio Review meetings in the IBP process.
- Work with Global Demand CoE to periodically evaluate improvements in Demand planning and Demand control from Process and tools perspective.
- Support any Business transformation initiative across Asia Pacific as relating to commercial operations from the lens of segment(s) owned

**Expected Areas of Competence**:
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and cross functional groups while managing multiple priorities
- Well-developed influencing skills and ability to network and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
- Broad understanding of multiple functions of a business with a deep understanding covering supply chain management is essential.
- Well-developed skills in problem solving, effective communication, planning, and leadership by influencing and not authority.
- Sufficient understanding of how business strategy links to business model and day-to-day business processes & planning activities.
- Understands the business processes integral to commercial operations as related to forecasting & planning, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
- Strong analytical mind with an ability to process data and pick trends at a high level to give guidance whenever necessary while at the same time ready to roll up sleeve at any time.
- Competent with and having a natural inclination for systems and tools - Excel (advanced), SAP, SAP-IBP (Any other Planning software), Tableau and Power BI (any other business analytics platform)
- Good knowledge of financial systems and procedures
**Education/Experience Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree
- Minimal 10 years of supply chain planning or supply chain operation experience having strong commercial acumen.
- Strong inclination for and track record of demonstrated success at having worked closely with commercial team members and not just supply chain team members.
