**What you will do includes:
- Be accountable for the development and implementation of a comprehensive patient partnership operational approach across relevant therapeutic areas in specific geographies clearly illuminating patient and caregivers’ needs and considerations.
- Serve as an internal/external conduit enabling select Astellas functions to appropriately interact with and learn from with patients and patient groups to amplify the patients’ voice both internally and externally.
- Maintain meaningful relationships with key patient organizations and their leadership in areas relevant to Astellas in assigned geographies across relevant therapeutic areas
- Build and sustain strong, internal relationships including Research, M&D, Government Affairs and Commercial.
- Secure patient/patient advocacy group guidance and input into Astellas’ initiatives to facilitate the integration of the patient perspective into activities associated with the development of new therapies.
- Represent Astellas at relevant external meetings and forums.
- Exhibit the behaviors necessary to align with organizational leaders, especially legal and compliance, on appropriate patient partnerships.
- Support successful patient advisory meetings with relevant business partners.
- Exhibit high project management competence by ensuring that all programs are executed flawlessly.
- Develop and manage a transparent therapeutic area Patient Partnership budget.

**What you will need**:

- At least 10 years relevant pharmaceutical, healthcare, biotechnology, advocacy or medical device industry experience in diverse therapeutic areas, including within and outside of the U.S.
- In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical research and development process, with experience in related therapeutic areas, including several disease states/product categories
- Strong understanding of patient focused drug development, patient access and policy issues in key geographies outside of the United States
- Ability to sustain meaningful relationships with executive-level stakeholders, patients and their caregivers.
- Excellent communication abilities including presentation, verbal and written skills.
- Able to handle multiple priorities and work streams
- Able to develop a proactive approach to maintain effective, current and relevant patient advocacy plans
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
- Demonstrates strategic agility and excellent judgment
