SUMMARY
Teleport Delivery has experienced hyper-growth in the past 1-2 years, and has grown to a multimillion dollar line-of-business, with a strong ~20% MoM revenue growth. Overall the organizations’ manpower has in turn scaled from a 30 person organization to a 700 person organization over the past 4 years. This rapid growth has demanded we change how we operate as a business, with Teleport Singapore being among the first countries to have fully de-centralised sales and operations. Since the decentralization, Teleport Singapore has been achieving 60-100% MoM growth in parcels handled, demanding more from each of our team members.
The business intelligence (BI) unit will be composed of a small team of talents, with data analytics capabilities and a natural inclination for business and operations. While this unit will be based in Singapore, its ultimate role is to enable rapid scaling not just within Singapore, but the wider region (yes, we want more growth). The unit will play a critical role in expediting decentralization across the region by driving data visibility, changes in ways of working and enabling informed decision-making on the ground. The unit will play a critical role in working with the regional team to share our learnings, and (where needed) play an active role in rolling out these changes.
Applicants should come from a logistics background (hitting the ground running is a must), possess business acumen and is able to run complex modeling and analytics. You will stand out in the role if you are comfortable with ambiguity, possess strong organizational awareness and emotional maturity. These skills will enable you to navigate the wider organization, and garner the buy-in required to drive change and improvements in Teleport. As a Manager of Business Intelligence you will be working with a team of 1-2 people and will be based out of our co-working space in central Singapore. You will be performing this role on a full-time basis, and will report to the Country Head of Singapore.
A DAY IN A LIFE
As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:
- Collaborate with business to Identify key metrics to track and develop dashboards / models to support
- Coach business users on logic, approach to utilizing dashboards in daily decision-making
- Use data to define issues and where needed, get hands-on and work with teams to resolve the issue
- Assess opportunities i.e.: M&A, commercial agreements, cost savings; to enable informed decision-making
- Drive BI projects independently, taking ownership of the end-to-end process to drive an outcome
At the onset, you may be culture-shocked working in AirAsia and with the Teleport team. To help you adapt better, we would like to share our beliefs on leadership. Put simply, you are a leader, we all are leaders and good leaders:

SKILLS
These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role:
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence architectures, data warehousing and data models
- Thinks in numbers and charts; obsessive about data and it’s accuracy (triangulate and sense check, always)
- Able to translate data into a format that is simple, easy to understand and meaningful for business users
- Logistics background, preferably cross-border logistics
- is able to reconcile short term and long term interests, individual and organizational interests
- independently drive projects to address issues and monitors the budgets, resources and schedules
- is aware of both the risks and the key success factors of projects and manages the project with these in mind
- has an extensive network within and outside the organization and is ultimately responsible for the results
- strong organizational awareness and is comfortable navigating a multinational, multifunctional organization
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years work experience, at least 3+ years in a managerial role of a fast-growing start up & data analytics role
- Degree from a top-tier university (STEM preferred)
- Work experience in a top tier consulting firm i.e.: McKinsey, Bain, BCG or Big Four
- Exposure to work across multiple countries in Southeast Asia, or a big multinational organisation
