**Direct Search Global is working with a Japanese petrochemical company to fill the role of Senior Outside Battery Limits (OSBL) Advisor/Executive to be based in their Singapore plant. The plant location is at Jurong Island. Transportation is provided at Jurong East.**
**Why This Job?**
Petrochemical industry is one of Singapore’s key economic sectors, whereby Jurong Island is the heart of Singapore’s energy and chemicals industry. OSBL is key in managing cost to maintain / expand a petrochemical plant.
This job allows you to work closely with the Managing Director and Manufacturing Director and support them in overseeing OSBL contract negotiations (for utility, raw material, wastewater/liquid, related contractor, etc.). Meanwhile, you get to expand your network by liaising with vendors, suppliers and internal teams from HQ in Tokyo and other global entities.
**Who Should Apply?**
OSBL Executive who has 5-8 years of experience in managing OSBL projects within petrochemical industry, is looking forward to advancing his/her career in a multi-national company with the HQ in Japan.
**Job Descriptions**:
- Planning, directing, and negotiating all OSBL contracts with the goal of maximizing the company’s benefits in terms of contract duration, timing, cost impact, supply reliability, and flexibility for business continuity.
- Collaborating with managers, project teams, and head office (Tokyo and other global entities) to resolve issues or conflicts arising among different divisions/departments/project teams and make well-founded decisions.
- Identifying and reviewing any risks, concerns, or pertinent information that could impact the company’s business, finance, and operations, and providing recommendations for effective actions.
- Offering solutions or ideas to enhance internal operations related to daily or project transactions based on past experiences.
- Conducting external audits of suppliers/vendors or evaluating and proposing corrective/preventive/improvement actions.
- Advising and supporting purchasing or project teams to streamline and improve the efficiency of their activities/work.
- Reporting the above matters to superiors and fulfilling any other duties or assignments as directed by superiors.
**Job Requirements**:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in OSBL contract and petrochemical industry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Attentive to details
- Able to work independently.
- Strong negotiation skill
- **This role is 1-year contract term.
