**Senior Leadership General Responsibilities**
- Senior Leaders have joint responsibility for all aspects of the school relating to the education and development of the students; each has a focus of responsibility, but all contribute to the whole and support the work of others. The Vice Principal is responsible to the Principal
- Create and foster an environment of reflective practice and development, leading by example in all aspects of personal and professional development.
- Develop and maintain a culture of high expectations for self and others.
- Lead by example as a teacher and as a leader and manager, achieving high standards of pupil achievement and motivation through excellent teaching.
- To lead teams and individuals in line with specific areas of responsibility
- Have a teaching commitment in line with Vice Principal status.
- Sustain effective, positive relationships with staff, students, parents, Governors and the local community.
- To contribute to the whole school development plan as and when required
- Relevant reports to Governors/Principal
- To contribute to the admissions and marketing events as and when required
- To complete all supervisory duties, as required by Senior Team members, and directed through published rotas
- To ensure safeguarding and child protection policies and practices across the school are in line with best practice and ensure all students safeguarding needs are met.
- To maintain an open dialogue between the school, students and their parents on all educational matters.
- Attend relevant school events and activities.
- Manage budget(s) in line with areas of responsibility.
- Production of key Senior School publications as detailed in the ST Portfolio document
- Organisation of key Senior School events as detailed in the ST Portfolio document
- To act as the School’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, thereby taking responsibility for all aspects of the school’s Safeguarding policies and procedures.
- To be committed to the safeguarding of students across the school
- To respond in a timely and effective manner to concerns raised regarding the safety and wellbeing of students, taking urgent action when a child is at risk of immediate harm.
- To remain informed of current legislation, statutory and other guidance with regards to safeguarding, and child protection, including an in-depth knowledge of regulatory issues in Singapore
- To establish and maintain positive working relationships with relevant statutory, voluntary and community agencies, and to maintain an up-to-date mapping of agencies in Singapore
- To work with the HR Department to ensure that the school’s Single Central Register is maintained
- To lead safeguarding audits of current provision, and take responsibility for subsequent action plans and developments
- To complete timely and detailed referrals to CPS and other agencies to request support for children and families. To be tenacious in the follow-up of these referrals, escalating as required
- To attend or provide information for all meetings pertaining to matters of safeguarding, ensuring that the school’s view is accurately represented and recorded
- To provide, collate and monitor regular, accurate and timely data on safeguarding, as directed by the Principal
- To ensure that the school is compliant with safer recruitment procedures for new staff members and that their induction includes a specific focus on safeguarding
- Where appropriate, provide support in investigations, liaising with relevant agencies and reporting to appropriate authorities
- Quality assure the recording, storing and codifying of safeguarding incidents in the school to maintain consistent practice across the school.
- To provide advice and training to staff, at least annually, and signpost to best practice guidance
- To act in accordance with school policies at all times, ensuring a high standard of professionalism which demonstrates the school’s expected standards
- To manage the school’s safeguarding training strategy, including keeping a detailed log of all training data
