Outward Bound Singapore (OBS), a division of NYC, is part of a worldwide adventure-based training network in more than 30 countries. The Operational Safety Management (OSM) team is responsible for developing new policies, processes, and training to ensure the safe conduct of OBS daily operations (local & overseas), to deliver a safe and quality operating environment. The team plans and organizes regular safety review activities involving local and overseas experts of its training facilities and operations to ensure that they meet both local and international industry standards. In addition, the team reviews and monitors operational efficiency by ensuring all regulations and policies are up-to-date and relevant with the necessary operational processes and protocols to manage and control safety risks in operations.
As the Manager/Assistant Manager (Data Management Analyst), you will be part of the OSM team to build and develop OBS data analytics capability to enhance OBS’ safety incident data management, improve Operations Cluster’s ability in delivering safe and quality programmes and for better data-driven decisions to be made.
**What you will be working on**
- You will study, analyse, develop, and report operations data statistics, systems, and processes to facilitate the study of OBS safety and operations management efficacy. You will also work with internal departments and external agencies to benchmark and enhance the standards of OBS safety data capabilities for the Outdoor Education Masterplan. In addition, you will assist in information management, analysis and reporting of operations data pertaining to manpower, operational processes, incidents, and safety across the Operations cluster.
You will gain experience and hone your skills in these areas:
- Understand the organizational risk threshold and control measures towards risk management
- Understand the trends and risk that youths are exposed through the study of OBS safety data
- Presentation and storytelling techniques in data presentation
- Data mapping of correlations between various data sources
- Study of incident and safety data trends
- Application of data analytics processes (e.g. machine learning, regression) to develop leading data
- Understand and experience the operations and activities for the various OBS programmes
- Opportunity to work with various internal departments and external agencies in developing OBS data capabilities and benchmarking standards of reporting.
**What we are looking for**
- Qualified with experience in data analytics (systems analytics, business analytics, etc.)
- Strong command in English language (reading and writing)
- Ability to develop a software and coding (Python) will be an advantage.
- Organized, resourceful, detail-orientated and able to work independently and in teams
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to adapt quickly
- Constantly learn new skills, innovate, and seek improvement
