Job Purpose: In summary, in this role, you will build a forward looking focus for Allianz Asia Pacific's Health Insurance business by leading long-term strategy projects, regional planning, business transformation, and other initiatives related to the Health Business. The incumbent will report to the Regional Head of Health, Allianz Asia Pacific, and the role will have a combination of regional and Operating Entity responsibilities to align and support Allianz in achieving accelerated growth and profitability targets for the Asia Pacific Health business, working closely with C-level executives in the AZAP regional office and OE leadership, while collaborating with Group stakeholders to align towards the overall Allianz growth strategy. The role is designed to enable the right incumbent to excel in their area of expertise while growing their professional skill sets. The incumbent will support initiatives in health business in both the Life and Health and Property and Casualty entities.
What You Do
Strategy development: Ambition setting; support and co-lead the development of the Annual strategy plan (SD, PD) with regional leadership and key OE heads.
Planning & analysis: Contribute to planning and analysis of high-impact strategic initiatives with a fact base, issue identification, and solutioning guidance; advise on practical implementation.
Transformational growth: Manage execution of project modules, including hypothesis development, data collection, model creation, analyses, research, and surfacing insights.
Business transformation: Drive medium- to long-term strategic initiatives to transform the business and achieve financial goals.
Market intelligence: Conduct market research, competitor intelligence, financial analysis, data modelling, and ongoing analysis to benchmark performance and inform strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Go-to-market: Identify market opportunities and develop business cases to support expansion, footprint growth, and enhanced market propositions.
Innovation: Synthesize findings to map industry changes and catalyse innovation activities.
Proposition development: Support integration of regional objectives with OE aspirations to drive proposition development across functions.
Strategy execution: Lead conception and execution of strategic projects with appropriate analysis and insights.
Data-driven decision making: Use analytics to identify new opportunities, challenge assumptions, and drive data-based decisions.
Regional collaboration: Coordinate strategy across countries and with regional and local teams to ensure alignment.
Decision analysis: Advise senior management on strategic decisions; provide strategic recommendations to achieve growth targets in the region.
Strategic recommendations: Provide insights to define Allianz Asia Pacific as a growth region, rallying cross-functional stakeholders.
What You Bring
6 - 8 years in business strategy or consulting, preferably with exposure to insurance/financial services; experience in project-based, team-oriented environments.
Proven consultancy capabilities to manage personnel and senior stakeholders.
Strong interest in emerging trends and technologies shaping Allianz Asia Pacific's growth.
Strategic thinking, analytics, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and influencing abilities.
Independent and collaborative worker with adaptability across topics and scenarios; strong business acumen and analytical thinking.
Executive-level communication and presentation skills; proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; AI tools experience is a plus.
Leadership qualities and experience building high-performance teams; understanding of financial services and regulatory frameworks.
Ability to translate technical jargon for business leaders; experience across Asian markets and cultures, especially Southeast Asia.
Fluent in English; additional Asian languages (Bahasa, Mandarin, Thai, etc.) desired.
Knowledge of distribution, product, and operations in insurance; understanding of health ecosystem and health insurance preferred.
Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills; ability to work independently.
Adaptable and strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
