About the Job:
The Seafood Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the seafood department. This includes ensuring the highest standards of product quality, customer service, and cleanliness are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Management: Manage and supervise the seafood department, including staff scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Inventory Control: Ensure the availability of fresh, high-quality seafood products by monitoring inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Food Safety: Maintain proper seafood storage, handling, and display procedures to ensure food safety and product freshness.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with product selection, providing knowledge about seafood types, preparation, and cooking methods.
- Maintenance and Repair: Develop and implement merchandising strategies to promote seafood products and increase sales.
- Sales Analysis: Track and report on sales, inventory levels, and profitability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Enforce food safety regulations, health codes, and company policies.
- Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing, quality, and timely delivery of products.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in seafood management or a related field.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of seafood products, preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Communication: Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Organizational: Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Additional Requirements: Food safety certification is preferred. Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, as required.
