This is an exciting opportunity to join our esteemed restaurant as a skilled Sommelier. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting an exquisite wine and beverage list, working closely with the Head Sommelier.

About the Role

  • Create a comprehensive wine and beverage menu in collaboration with the Head Sommelier.
  • Advising the owner on optimal glassware and inventory allocation.
  • Ensure seamless customer service by greeting, organising table reservations, and responding to queries and complaints.
  • Develop and implement staff training programs to enhance their knowledge of the beverage program.
  • Taking food orders from customers while providing impeccable service.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor their execution.
  • Conduct regular stock takes and oversee ordering processes.
  • Collaborate with the Head Sommelier to develop a dynamic beverage program.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a fine dining establishment.
  • Attention to detail and adequate beverage knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a diverse team.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and energetic.
  • Effective communication skills across divisions.
