Overview
As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a key role in assisting the Sous Chef and Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations. You will be involved in preparing high-quality Italian dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring that all kitchen activities align with our restaurant’s standards for food safety and quality. This position is perfect for a culinary professional who is eager to grow their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and ingredient selection.
Prepare and cook a variety of Italian dishes, ensuring presentation and taste meet our high standards.
Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback to foster skill development.
Oversee kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and stock control as needed.
Handle any customer concerns or special requests with professionalism and efficiency.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Cook or Chef, preferably in an Italian restaurant.
Formal culinary training or relevant culinary certifications is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, cooking techniques, and food safety practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Creative and passionate about food with a strong attention to detail.
Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
