Therapy Services Professional
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our interdisciplinary team at Rainbow Centre. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities through effective therapy and psychological services, enabling them to achieve their highest level of independence.
The ideal candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality therapy services across various settings, including early intervention, schools, out-of-school hours care, and community outreach services.
Main Responsibilities
1. Client-Centred Care
- Conduct thorough assessments using appropriate tools to identify clients' needs.
- Develop outcome-based care plans tailored to individual goals.
- Facilitate individual and group interventions, employing evidence-based practices and collaborating with colleagues to deliver effective services.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to professional guidelines and organisational requirements.
- Prioritise and manage a caseload under supervision, ensuring timely completion of tasks and reports.
- Participate in developing protocols and clinical guidelines to enhance services in collaboration with Lead Allied Professionals/Principal Therapists.
2. Supporting Strategy and Planning Efforts
- Maintain and monitor client records related to service utilisation, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
- Contribute to the development, monitoring, and evaluation of outcome measures to assess service effectiveness.
3. Continuing Professional Development
- Engage in reflective practice, critically evaluating contemporary issues affecting the profession and sector.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, organisational procedures, policies, and professional codes of conduct to uphold standards of best practice.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in occupational therapy from a recognised university and eligibility for registration under the Allied Health Professions Act
- Previous experience in special education settings is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to convey thoughts and ideas succinctly to stakeholders, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and client-centred service delivery.
- Able to handle physical demands of the role, including lifting clients and equipment.
