Job Title: Senior Robotics Engineer
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced robotics engineer to lead the development of advanced robotic manipulation systems. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing complex robotic pipelines using cutting-edge technologies such as MoveIt, ROS 2, and C++.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotics, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in robotic manipulation. Expertise in motion planning, force control, and compliant manipulation is highly desirable.

You will work closely with our navigation and perception teams to ensure seamless robot-environment interaction. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing robotic manipulation pipelines using MoveIt, ROS 2, and C++
  • Developing vision-guided manipulation for detecting shapes of toilets and sinks
  • Optimizing path planning for collision-free arm motions in tight spaces
  • Implementing force-torque control and compliant motions for safe interaction with surfaces
  • Architecting behavior tree-based task execution for manipulation workflows
  • Integrating safety monitors into the manipulation stack
  • Working with embedded teams to ensure low-latency communication between manipulators and sensors
  • Conducting real-world testing and refining manipulation robustness
  • Creating APIs to interface with 3rd-party UI dashboards

Required Skills & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD/MS in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in robotic manipulation (industrial arms, mobile manipulators)
  • Expertise in MoveIt, ROS 2, and motion planning
  • Strong C++ skills with experience in real-time robotic control
  • Background in computer vision (OpenCV, PyTorch, YOLO) for object detection/grasping
  • Experience with end-effector tooling (grippers, suction systems, cleaning attachments)
  • Knowledge of force control and compliant manipulation strategies
  • Familiarity with behavior trees for task sequencing
