Senior Lab Manager, Site Operations Lead

Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri)Environmental Conditions Laboratory Setting, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)Job Description Purpose The Sr Manager, Site Operations Lead will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations and planning at the site, ensuring the achievement of organizational goals and driving success through effective leadership and management. Directs and manages all aspects of management of laboratory operations and ensures productivity, efficiency and quality of the work is maintained and financial goals of the business are achieved. Facilitates maximum accuracy, cost efficiency and productivity and assists with planning and development. Develops and implements laboratory policies and ensures proper implementation. Essential Functions Manages and directs work responsibilities of staff as well as prioritizing tasks and resources. Directs staff to meet departmental key process improvements (KPIs). Manages the implementation of departmental goals and fiscal policies. Develops new programs for revenue enhancement/cost expense reduction, including post-evaluation of new implementations for effectiveness. Coordinates inventory monitoring, performs all ordering and requisitioning of supplies, synchronizing this activity with the other sections. Maintains and monitors accreditation and inspection standards, keeping the laboratory in compliance with regulatory standards. Oversees laboratory operations and ensures compliance to company SOPs and policies and client requirements. Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime. Policy & Strategy Establishes operating policies & procedures that affect departments and subordinate sections of work units. Interprets company-wide policies and procedures. Develops budgets, schedules, and performance standards. Freedom to Act Assignments are objective oriented. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization's objectives and timelines. Interaction with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications. Leads briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives. Education and Experience Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification; 10+ years of experience. 5+ years of management responsibility; proven leadership skills. In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours. Able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Able to work in non-traditional work environments. Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency. May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments.
