Plant Operations Specialist

Job Overview
- A key member of the operations team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Combined Cycle Power Plants.
Responsibilities:
- Perform field activities, including isolation and normalization according to operational guidelines.
- Identify and report defective plant and equipment.
- Monitor and log equipment operation data in associated logs.
- Respond to system exigencies as required.
- Carry out routine plant tests and periodic auxiliary equipment changeover according to approved Work Instructions and schedules.
- Assist CCR staff in maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of key operational events.
- Monitor performance and maintain optimum unit efficiency in operations.
- Investigate plant abnormalities and recommend a course of action during shift.
- Prepare generating units for startup according to the real-time dispatch schedule.
- Perform first-level maintenance if required on the instructions of the Shift Leader.
- Monitor plant condition (first-level condition monitoring).
- Coordinate OJT training for new team members.
Requirements:
- Hold a Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualifications. Higher NITEC candidates with extensive related experience may also be considered.
- Diploma holder with 2-5 years' experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants or related industries.
- Higher NITEC with 7-10 years' experience in Combined Cycle Power Plants or related industries.
- Self-motivated, independent, analytical, and communication skills are essential.
- Good knowledge of plant processes and operations is required.
- Colour blindness is not acceptable due to work requirements involving equipment or machinery handling.
