Job Description
The role of a Family Support Specialist is to provide essential support to adoptive families, empowering them to navigate the adoption journey with confidence and sensitivity. This includes conducting comprehensive assessments of prospective adoptive parents' suitability for adoption, preparing and assisting in writing formal Adoption Suitability Assessment reports, and providing pre and post-adoption support through education, counseling, and workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of prospective adoptive parents' suitability for adoption.
- Prepare and assist in writing formal Adoption Suitability Assessment reports.
- Provide pre and post-adoption support through education, counseling, and workshops.
Working Conditions:
- 5 day work week: Mon-Fri
- Attractive remuneration and staff benefits
- Location - Toa Payoh
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require a degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related discipline, along with at least 2 years of relevant experience. You must be passionate about adoption work and have strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with families and stakeholders. Proficiency in professional reporting writing and documentation is also essential.
